LIGHT LENS LAB'S NEW B&W FILM

LIGHT LENS LAB'S NEW B&W FILM

Today we’re going to test a brand-new film stock from Light Lens Lab. This is no repackaged emulsion — it’s an entirely original formula developed from scratch.

As a Chinese manufacturer, the brand has dedicated years to independent film research and development.

This new release is the T100, with the letter "T" standing for T-Grain. Its emulsion is engineered to replicate the classic Kodak T-Max grain structure, making this new film incredibly promising. This film will be available in vairous formats, including 135, 120, 127 and 4x5'' large formats.

We tested this film with a Fujifilm 645zi zoom. Overall the results are fantastic. Very sharp, moderate contrast, high dynamic range and natural tonal gradation.

If you look closely though, you’ll notice occasional white specks and minor coating scratches, which are typical flaws of a pre-production sample.

As such, we firmly believe these imperfections will be completely polished out for the official release.
